I have replaced press-in sleeves with flanges on a 50s era I-H 60 HP tractor. So they do exist. Probably not for a 283 Chev though. To install them one goes to the catering supply house for a box of dry ice and freezes the sleeves and taps them in with a block of wood and a mallet. Be quick about it or you will have to start overm maybe wasting the sleeve.
When I worked in the antique motorcycle shop we bored and sleeved all sorts of cylinders, Vincents, Sunbeams, Matchless V-twins, a Brough Superior, even a 650 Norton Manxman for which cylinders were NLA. Got to know the catering supply folks up the street quite well. Those days are gone these 30 years though. Sigh.
