Jon, as I'm sure you're aware, doing modifications to the intake and/or exhaust systems of a stovebolt engine is like joining two pieces of heavy duty tow chain with a paper clip. That would include the camshaft. The shape, size, and number of the cylinder head ports, and the position and size of the valves is the real limiting factor. It's like trying to squeeze the traffic on a six lane freeway through a 2 lane tunnel. No matter how many traffic cops are assigned to making the flow improve, the infrastructure just isn't there. Maybe the project I'm working on to install a 12 port dual overhead cam 24 valve cylinder head on a 300 cubic inch "261" engine will help out with that little issue!
