With so much chatter going on regarding throttle cables, today I installed a new throttle cable because my old one has always been too short in length. It was a straight line between the firewall and the carb. Have been wanting to install a longer one which would allow a nice round curve down to the carb.
The issue I am having is the inner wire is too slippery. If I pull the throttle knob out, it will not stay in it's pulled position but instead goes back to it's close position. The strength of the throttle spring will close the cable back. Not enough resistance inside the cable sheathing.
Argh!
