Phil, Below are a couple pics of a 1965 250 accelerator linkage and return spring posted by our own member Lugnutz on a different site that appears to match your friends truck. Prior to 1963 and in 1967 (I'm pretty sure) the linkage setups were different. The pictures I found of those setups did not match with your friends truck. Hope this may help out! wink NOTE: 250 and 230 linkage is the same.
