There's also a plug just forward of the u-joint bell on the transmission. It's a little above centerline on the right side and mainly serves to keep the output shaft bushing in place, but goes all the way through to allow you to put gear oil in it. It's angled up a bit so you could pour oil in without it running all over the place, but a suction gun with a tube on the end would be a better choice.
BTW, the page that Dan shows says "Fill the housing with transmission lubricant", but it only takes 1/2 pint. Don't overfill, although you could remove the fill plug on the side of the transmission and fill till it starts running out there. A quart is enough to fill the original 3 speed transmission in your truck. 1/2 pint for the u-joint area and the rest in the main gearcase till it runs from the fill plug on the side.
