Just thought the topic title would get some attention.

I didn't realize you could sucessfully weld cast iron, but I will look around. In the meantime the lip on the cylinders seems to be .008, maybe .01, best I can tell with a feeler guage - maybe too crude a measurement, but I may need to bore the block. I need to add up all the potential / likely costs and take another look at the neighbors' 235 from a '62 truck he bought. I can get that engine for $250, of course it could just be more of the same. Any advice ? Today I took the hood off and will pull the block out of my truck within a week, so I can handle either scenario, but would like to save on the $$. :rolleyes:
