What is weird here is that my spark plugs are sooty black after letting it idle for 5 minutes. Even with the small jet size it runs rich at idle anyway. I am missing the insulator that goes on top of the intake. Looks like my grandfather had stacked a bunch of gaskets to create something like an insulator. I do have the proper gasket on the bottom of carburetor with the slot matched up to the hole for it. I wonder if missing that insulator makes a big difference or not.
