OK- - - -i did some more measuring- - - - -It looks like 235 pistons of various oversizes can be fitted to the 4 cylinder block, the distributor housing is the same diameter as a Mercruiser Marine 4 cylinder distributor, and it looks like with a drive gear change, the Mercruiser distributor with its centrifugal spark advance could be fitted to the engine. Ditto for a 216 style oil pump- - - -do a little strategic whittling here and there and there should be about twice the oil volume available for modernized spray-oiled connecting rods with insert bearings.
