I've never had this issue before... Had the truck for 5 years now. It's a 1952 Chevy 1/2 Ton with a 54 235 in it. Recently replaced the starter and had no issues for a while but now it just clicks once when I push the floor starter all the way down. I have to slowly let off with my foot and hold it ever so slightly off of full pressure and it will start engaging the starter. Does anybody have an idea as to what is going on? Im running 6 volts still. Just to recap... I have to push the floor starter all the way in and then gently let off but hold it at that position once it starts turning over. Is the bendix not engaging the flywheel properly? Could it simply be a bad cell in my battery even? It doesn't seem to be a problem with the button on top of the starter but it could be I guess. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
