What you really need to do it right is a part number for your Delco-Remy distributor and a D-R spec book (see a page below - I borrowed the book from a friend). Then you'd need a Sun distributor machine or if you're poor like me, a set back timing light, a MityVac vacuum pump (if your distributor has a vacuum advance), a tachometer (some timing lights have one built in) and a running engine to spin the distributor.
