Saw a picture of your L-80 Wrecker.
Just wondering what the specs were on the truck.
It seems pretty much comparible to the '62 GMC 6500 I used to drive, altho that truck was a Conventional Cab.
It had a 478 V-6, 5-Speed Trans, 2-Speed Rear Axel, Air Brakes, 10-20 Tires on Spoke Wheels, with a GVW of about 32,000 Lbs. I believe it had 9 Fronts and 23 Rears.
It really should have had 12 Fronts from the factory, as we would load it to the max many times. When the truck got reconditioned, they added about 3 extra leafs to the front which brought it up to around 12. The truck had unbelieve-able torque. At the freight yard, if a fully loaded rail car was not lined up to the dock just right, I would hook a chain to it and pull it up with no problem.
