If you choose to install a bypass switch to override the temp sensor, be sure to power it from a source such as the "accessory" terminal on the ignition switch. That way it's sure to shut off when the engine stops, even if you forget to switch off. I've seen batteries run down by leaving accessories turned on with an override switch when the driver leaves the override on accidentally.
