Looks like a much better design!
Not sure how much better it really may be??? I have a 1962 235 from a farmers C20 I snagged awhile back that still had the front mount installed. That engine is waiting in the wings to be installed in my 1951 3100 to upgrade from the 1954 passenger car 235 currently in there.
Below are pictures of what a well worn but still mostly intact front mount looks like. Seems age and probably oil seepage from the front crankshaft seal has caused it to compress/squat under load. The upper leading edge actually has a groove rubbed into it from contact against the crank balancers edge.
This one is probably a candidate for re-vulcanizing.
