And then maybe to push it back in place. I don't know how tight the shaft would be in the mount. Can you see if the pin goes all the way through? If it does, it's probably a cylindrical pin, not tapered.
I'm just spitballing from looking at your picture. You'll have to confirm it'll work, being hands-on.
