I have a personal story to share about the Seabees. When we were stationed in Okinawa, we needed a minor adjustment to our quarters (a short ramp for the wheelchair). The Seabees arrived. "Just a ramp? How about a walkway to the driveway? Do you want to be able to get to the clothes line? Hey, how about ....?" They were amazing. Everything was just perfect! John said they told him they enjoyed it since they didn't get to do this kind of work there on Oki.
THAT was a great way to start an overseas tour.
