And if you not hooked on stock. I just got a cable hoist spare tire mechanism like the ones on modern Silverado trucks and welded it to the cross member.
In for like 20 bucks and a salvage yard spare tire kit for the pole to reach in and turn it up and down.
that way I don't have to muscle the tire in on the carrier and lift it.
Or you can use one of those to lift the carrier you build as well.
