That's almost identical to the dual wheel trucks my grandfather used, set up as tractor-trailer rigs, to haul beer from Milwaukee and St. Louis to Nashville in the late 1930s. One had a tarp-covered flatbed trailer for bottle beer, and the other one had an insulated box for iced-down kegs. There were some interesting stories told by my father about a sheriff in Kentucky, a steep hill, and a set of portable truck scales. Those rigs had vacuum assisted mechanical brakes on the tractors, and NO brakes on the trailers!
