#15249 07/02/2002 1:56 AM | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 130 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 130 | hello rilap. i think the small block chevy v8s actually weigh less than the 216 straight sixes. your reconditioned spring sets will help handling reguardless of what engine you decide on. you said it would be used to tool around town and must go up to 70mph. wo nelly! i've read on this forum that a front sway bar and front disc brakes do alot to improve handling and stopping on straight x trucks, and i will soon be doing these improvements on mine even though still using a 235 six. good luck
