Hambone, Just the shaft. The column doesn't move. Not long after after I noticed the steering shaft movement, my turn signal lever became very hard to operate. I took the wheel off and discovered my upper steering shaft bearing had come apart. The bearings fell out and were interfering with the turn signal assembly, making at it very hard to move the lever. Maybe that is the cause of the movement. Does that make sense? I also wonder if the spring in that universal joint is broken or weak. I don't understand what the spring does.
