As I am sitting here thinking about things, like a walk in the park and a kiss in the dark, no not that. On all my trips to KC thinking back, as a matter of habit, I would check all the fluids including the brake fluid. The pumping of the brakes is because I don't wait until the last second to apply them. I do it to slow down prior to stopping not like the idiots I have to deal with who wait until the last second before they slow down thinking that the light will turn to green to accommodate their privileged existence.
As some one suggested, not having self-adjusting brakes is the reason for the need for fluid periodically.
