Back in march when I rewired my truck I bought and installed a license plate bracket with a light.
Couldn’t get to work. Tried dedicating ground from the battery. Nope. Did multiple grounds to the bracket and frame. Nope. So I gave up to come back to it when I had some time.

Well today I looked at it again. Took the dome and plate off. Took the dome plate bracket off and pulled the bulb socket out to look at them a little closer.

Found that this license plate and all its parts were dipped and not painted. Even the attaching screws and threads were coated.

Bulb came on. No path for it to ground.

So got the Dremel out with the smallest cone and roughed up where the bulb locks in the socket. Then roughed two matting spots on the license bracket frame and the dome plate.

Let there be light. Happy camper tonight.
