Use a tap. Its easier, just as effective, and just as clean, lol!
Not everyone has a tap of the right size. I know I don't, but I probably have an appropriately sized nut and bolt in my collection. I'm a cheapskate, so whenever I can pinch a penny, I do. Not afraid of buying stuff when needed, but still.... A tap is probably $15+ if you need to get one.
