Dave please correct me if I am wrong. Orchidskip by using the non working end of the cylinder for the reservoir it can't over extend. The non working end or in the case of these dumps the rod end of the ram, has a smaller displacement than the working end do to the space taken up by the rod. So the system will run out of fluid before it can overextend.
