It's a 2 wire with one red hitting the post on Alt. And other wire "exciter" running to + of ignition coil or ignition term. on the ignition switch. So I don't run wire from Alt. batt. terminal to regulator, before going to battery +? And why do the instructions state " there should be battery voltage to the white wire only when the ignition key is on"
