I plan to replace this starter because, while it works when I bench tested it, it doesn't move the flywheel (4 teeth per inch) on the 1956 6 cylinder 235 engine I plan to install. The question I have is do I replace it with original 6 volt starter? Why? I read you can only use a 6 volt starter on the flywheel that has 4 teeth per inch but it's okay to run 12 volts.
