I have a Spicer 7041 that I'd like to put in my 1 Ton, but don't think there is room. I can respect the desire to have an additional 2.37 reduction below the 7.06. One heck of a creeper gear!
Does yours have the vent on top? It'll dribble out the vent if you clock it wrong / too much.
Barring the vent, I don't see why you couldn't clock it 90 degrees. Of course it'll make your shift linkage a little... funky, not to mention your mounts.
