I don't know about the cap............the AD and pre war guys do. Stamp indicates a 270 block. Internet says produced 1941-1963.....lots of swapin' going on from 39 up on all the straight 6 series of GMC motors. Right is right, even if everyone is against it, and wrong is wrong, even if everyone is for it. - William Penn
