I have done it twice, once with the original windshield and again after a collision with a rock thrown up by a speeding truck on a gravel road. I did not break a windshield either time but it went in a little easier with the original windshield than the repro. Three people are recommended to install, two on the outside and one in the inside pulling the cord. It is important to check the fit before attempting to install. Installing your windshield - part 2 I made little wood spacers to nest the windshield into the opening to check the fit before install. If you are not using the stainless reveal molding it will also go together easier, just one less thing to be concerned about. I used Filling Station rubber the first time and Steele the second time.
