i'm pitting disk brakes on a 52 chevy pickup front straight axle i have a kit for the intermediate gm calipers and rotors (bought this kit and parts years ago). the problem is when i put the rotor on the pickup spindle ( original pickup spindle) it doesn't go on far enough lacks about an 3/4 -1 inch of fitting right. the bearings are seated correct and the rotor spins as it should. another weird thing when i tighten the spindle nut down it screws on to far and the cotter pin doesn't hold the nut. i'm wondering if i should be useing the modified spindle sold by Speedway and others
https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Speedway-1949-1954-Chevy-Car-Modified-Spindles-w-King-Pin does anyone know anything about these, ARE they a direct fit to the pickup axle (kingpin size)? the OEM pickup spindles just seem to be to long. as you can see in the pictures thee rotor is out to far.and the caliper doesn't line up right.
THANKS Jay D.
