It looks like the bezel is already damaged. I would use “a little” penetrating oil like Kroil, then wiggle the switch while applying slight pressure with a screwdriver. Don’t drench it as it might creep into the contact areas and I’m not sure what it would do.
If all else fails, use a vice grip then replace the bezel. You can buy them from Classic Parts
