You can probably figure out the ratio with a couple of dial indicators and something like a deep socket to use as a pivot point. The intake valve to piston clearance can get really critical, depending on the lobe lift of the cam you're using, and which cylinder head you have. It's impossible for an exhaust valve to contact the piston.
