Exhaust manifold heat riser shaft has a lot of slop in it. What methods have others used when "rebuilding" the heat riser ?

Remove the shaft and bush the holes to the nearest size possible with shaft clearance of .010 on the diameter or other?

Make a new shaft to fit the worn holes in the manifold ? Making a new shaft looks to have some difficulties.

Any and all advice appreciated. I have a friend with a "machine shop" . If anyone has a "how to" written up, please share it. Thanks!
