If those "Carter" pumps are less than 20 years old or so, they're Carter in name only. No matter what name is on the box, Carter, Airtex, etc., they're all made in the same slave labor sweatshop in some third world country across the Pacific ocean. There are a couple of USA rebuilders who rehab the old pumps that are assembled with screws to OEM quality standards, with alcohol-resistant rubber parts.
