Backstory - had local automotive glass company install windshield along with molded rubber gasket from Steele Rubber. Guy from the glass company says the opening is too small and removes material from the windshield....twice, two trips, on the third trip he got it installed. No sealer, slapped and installed using rope method.
The windshield leaks badly , huge puddle all the way across the front of the floor mat.
my conclusion - the molded rubber gasket no longer seals against he windshield, that and no sealer enables the water to enter the cab
I guess the only option is to start over. I'm questioning the glass guys skills regarding old trucks. Do I go buy another gasket that requires bonding the ends so I can get a good seal against the windshield and also apply sealant per the shop manual?
Not sure I'm up to it, but I suppose I could give it a whirl. I live in Northeast Missouri, so there's not an abundance of installers....
