I had been invited recently to check out a true barn find. So I did today.

It's a 1931 Chevrolet 1-Ton stakebody truck. The truck has lived in a Southern Maryland tobacco barn its entire life. The thing about tobacco barns is that even though they have dirt floors, they stay very dry because of the great air flow through them.

The sheet metal and cab are remarkably intact. Some heavy surface risting and pitting, but it's all very saveable.

The cab is in remarkably good condition. A lot of differences from my '27, but still very similar.

The bed is also well preserved. A good study for when I have to build my own.

Parked in front of the '31 is a similar vintage Dodge Brothers 1-Ton truck. It runs and drives.
