I suppose what seems to be routine tinkering to us round track racers becomes voodoo magic to others. I've made half a dozen mixture changes in one afternoon, getting ready for the evening's main event- - - -a major change in humidity and/or atmospheric pressure from a thunderstorm passing by a few miles away might require a few main jet changes in the span of 3 or 4 hours. Just an integral part of playing the "go fast-turn left" game! We also made precision adjustments to the fuel mix- - - -by changing the number of 6 ounce Coke bottles of water we added to an 8-gallon beer keg tank of alcohol and Hydrogen peroxide, depending on humidity!
