That 1950 decision to make the Rochester B an OEM carb on Chevys was not popular with Carter. They vowed to sell a million replacement carbs for the Rochester, and marketed them very aggressively. When the one millionth Chevy YF came off the assembly line a few years later, the CEO of Carter had it gold plated and presented it to the CEO of GM!
