The job is pretty straight forward. Just need to get the backlash on the ring gear adjusted correctly. A friend told me when you think you have it just right it is probably to tight.
When I did my 53 the hardest part was getting the touque tube and rear end out from under the truck by my self. I also purchased the installation kit. It has everything you need to rebuild the drive train from the transmission to the axle. Well worth the money and time to do it right.
Also took my friends advise and the rear end is as quiet as a church mouse.
If you can pull a motor you can do this job, just take your time and do it right.
