I am in the process of restoring my '50 3100. As always, lots of surprises. As I ground down the thick bondo on the cab between the driver's door and fender, it became obvious why the front fender and the door never fit right. It appears that the door had once opened a bit to far, like probably flat against the front fender. Nothing the PO couldn't fix with slide hammer and a gallon of bondo. My guestion is in regard to the steel bracket that bolts to the cab on the lower driver's side firewall. The rear of the front fender bolts to it with three captured nuts, (at the bottom this bracket also holds the outside of the parking brake shaft). I believe that mine is bent because the three bolt holes are not in a straight line. That is to say, if I am looking at the front of the cab with the fenders off and the bracket in place, the top two of the three bolt holes are straight up and down and the bottom bolt hole is offset to the right. Is this correct? Or do I have a bent bracket? Thanks in advance.
