1. I don't think your wiring is per Pertronix instructions.
2. You have a hot ballast resistor next to a hot coil and a hot motor. If it's OK with you it's OK with me, but GM mounted it on the left firewall as I spelled out.

This is how they want is supposedly. I think you could add the dotted part. See what you think. THINGS CHANGE DEPENDING ON WHAT VERSION OF PERTRONIX YOU HAVE, SO BE CAREFULL WITH COIL OHMAGE.
