I want to shorten the frame of a 1940 3/4 ton, to 1/2 ton specs. I have a bed from a 41 to 46 truck that measures 78 inches inside, now the catch is , do i use the 1940 wheelbase of 113.5 or the 41 to 46 wheelbase of 115 inches. where did the extra length come in on the 41 to 46, was it on the bed or the front sheet metal? my bed does not have the fenders on it to help me to figure out the wheelbase.
