Sir, Wow! A quick response indeed! I will now see whether the 1157 bulb works without worrying whether hooking it up to a 12 volt battery wrecks it or not. Regarding whether conversion was initiated I would say no because the stoplight fixture was not on the door when I became 2nd owner. Also, it remains off the door while I restore it. Thanks Phil.
