I am putting a 292 six back together, and am doing the connecting rods right now. I have a '71 factory overhaul manual, but there is no listing in the torque specs for the 292, only the 250. For the 250, it says 11/32-24 bolts and 35 ft/lbs. This 292 has 3/8-24 bolts, like a small block, and the small block are torqued to 45 ft/lbs.
Con rod bolts are kind of critical, would hate to use the wrong torque on them. Anyone know for certain what the correct torque value is?
