Before you go changing that water pump, take a look at member RAC1812's post here https://www.stovebolt.com/ubbthread...e-1943-chevrolet-canada.html#Post1483989 which has a picture clearly showing the 216 with a water pump looking very much the same as yours.

You might want to send him a PM to see if he can share more details about this.
