Mechainiac's right. The 230 is a narrower block, requires different motor mounts. Your tranny should bolt up to the bell-housing, the 230 used the SM-420. Better engine than the 235, but not as good as the 250 or 292. Depending on the budget, I would go with a 261 if I wanted to stay with the existing mounts, or a 250 or 292 if I were willing to change the mounts.
