I had great success by taking the paperwork I had to the DMV and just explaining the situation to the person working the counter. They outlined several options for me and recommended a process that ended up being painless.
I had tried calling them and asking about it and the person on the phone was remarkably unhelpful.
There is a lot to be said for showing up in person and politely/humbly asking for help. | | |
