I was behind a friend of mine at night (we were double dating) and I saw a red glow under his car - (Olds 98 ~ 1988).
I pulled up close and saw the red molten metal dripping off in globs onto the street. It looked like lava!
Of course we all piled into my '68 Camaro and AAA came to get his Olds. The catalytic converter had plugged up and the exhaust system turned to molten metal.
