First, even though it is often called a VIN trucks that early had a body serial number not a VIN number. VIN is a special uniform id numbering system that started long after that truck was built.

http://www.geekoasis.com/vincalc/ (Stovebolt approved) it does identify your truck as a '48 COE with 134 inch wheelbase made in Janesville, WI during June.
Its useful to remember that truck plants outside the US often used similar but different coding schemes. That information is only correct if your truck was made in the USA.
