First you have paint type:
Acrylic lacquer
Acrylic enamel
Acrylic urethane
Water-based (that's a new one to me)
Paint appearance:
Solid
Metallic
Pearlescent
Matte
Black pigments:
Musou (99.4% light absorption...looks weird)
Carbon black
Jet black
Lamp black
Channel black
Bone black
on-and-on....
Rattle can black (mystery spray can mixture at your local store)
The most commonly used are Jet and Lamp black.
Since paint pigment can be blended, of the same paint type, you can multiply the combinations of black.
The shininess of the paint as well as clear coat can alter color as seen by the eye.
Some people say they can see a slight tint in one-color black paints. A red and blue tint. Blue tint preferred.
Henry's Model T used tung oil, car black pigment plus gilsonite.
FYI, PPG 9100 listed as 1954 Chev. truck "Jet Black" same formula as PPG 9300.
