| | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,212 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,212 | 1957 was the first year for the factory 4x4 offering, it was RPO-690. The gear shift lever mounting plate/bracket was riveted to the frame at the factory...dealer installed units were bolted on. The transfer case is bolted to crossmember #2...this crossmember is riveted into the frame at the same place for both the two and four wheel drive units. Mike B  | | |
